Project Overview:
The first phase of the Great Streets Initiative in downtown Burlington, VT focused on the roadway reconstruction of St. Paul Street from Main Street/St. Paul Street intersection to a point approximately 50 feet south of the intersection with Maple Street. Project elements included roadway reconstruction and realignment, and amenity upgrades within the project area including tree belts, wider sidewalks, benches, signage, pervious pavers, and bike racks. A new stormwater infrastructure has been constructed, and power and communications have been placed underground.
EIV provided resident engineering and construction inspection services throughout the duration of this project, ensuring that project work was performed according to design specifications. Communication with businesses and residents located within the project area was essential. EIV staff cultivated a rapport with stakeholders which fostered open and effective lines of communication when the project encountered any unexpected circumstances.
